First United Methodist of Sarasota is a vibrant church located in the heart of downtown Sarasota just a few blocks off the bay. We are committed to loving God and loving the people of our community. Wherever one is on their spiritual journey, they are welcome at First UMC. We have two traditional worship experiences each Sunday, a more intimate 8:30am service in the Chapel and an 11:00am service in our grand Sanctuary featuring a choir and pipe organ. Both offer a helpful and hope-filled message, uplifting music, and meaningful prayer.

Our desire is to BLESS SARASOTA through service in our community and support of other local non-profits making a difference. We also offer several free musical concerts for the community throughout the year.

Our Early Care Center preschool is a year-round program offering full-time all-day care for infants through 5-year-olds for 50 families.
